Dave Halasz
Dave Halasz is an engineering innovator with over 15 years of experience in the wireless industry. His career includes leadership positions at Aironet Wireless and Cisco Systems.
Dave has developed specialized expertise in wireless security and has hands-on experience delivering pre-standards and standards based solutions to the marketplace. During his tenure at Cisco, Dave was name a ‘Cisco Innovator ‘ for his contributions to early wireless security standards. He is an active member of IEEE and has served as the IEEE 802.11 liaison to IEEE 802.1. Currently Dave is the IEEE 802.11 Sub 1 GHz Study Group chair. The Sub 1 GHz area is of interest for outdoor, low data rate applications such as Smart Grid. He has also served as the chair of the IEEE 802.11i Task Group for security enhancements.
Dave earned his computer engineering degree at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio.
