Jim Raab
Jim Raab is the founder and lead consultant for OakTree Consulting. Based in Austin, Texas, Jim is responsible for managing and growing the company, formulating and executing long-term strategies, and overseeing client relationships and operational aspects of the company. Jim is a 20 year technology veteran in mobile computing, wireless networking and information technologies. He is well-regarded across the wireless industry as a visionary and strategist.
Jim actively participates in 3GPP, the WiMAX Forum, the Wi-Fi Alliance, ETSI, IEEE 802, PTCRB, NIST’s SGIP, the Zigbee Alliance and others. Before founding OakTree, Jim was employed by Wayport, Tivoli Systems (an IBM company), Lincom Wireless, Aspentree Software, and Musenki. Jim learned the consulting business early in his career working for a custom business systems consultancy managing large technology accounts such as Motorola, AOL, and Intuit.
Jim holds a BA in Economics from Colorado State University and a Masters degree from Utah State University.
