Luke Qian
Luke Qian is an active member of the wireless network community and is well-known for his on-going contributions to the industry. He has held leadership positions at Aironet Wireless and Cisco Systems. More recently, Luke founded a company providing WLAN planning and optimization services backed with an advanced Wi-Fi tuning technology.
Luke has specialized expertise in wireless MAC, including MAC protocol and algorithm design, large scale WLAN modeling and simulations, and industrial standard development. His efforts led to the success of a number of key advances in Wi-Fi networks, including higher throughputs with MAC aggregations, QoS assurance for VoFi through call admission control, reliable connectivity for Wireless Mesh and performance optimization for WLAN.
Luke has actively participated in IEEE 802.11 TGn since its inception, as well as the WFA 11n Marketing and Technical groups. He held a leadership position in the new Wi-Fi Display Technical Group in the Wi-Fi Alliance. Luke is also an IEEE Senior and was awarded an IEEE reward for his key contributions to IEEE 802.11n in 2010.
Luke holds a B.S in Physics from East China Normal University, a M.S. in Computer Science and a Ph.D in Physics from Kent State University. He has 10 U.S. patents, as well as a handful of patents pending in the area of wireless networks.
